COURSE CONTENT
The aim of the lecture is to provide up-to-date information on the challenges, pitfalls and possibilities of caring for gender diverse clients. Participants will be introduced to basic terminology (transgender, non-binary, gender expansive/non-conforming, transsexuality, transgender and gender dysphoria). Common practice of caring for people with transgender identity and gender dysphoria, its limits and possibilities. Diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.
WHO IS THE COURSE INTENDED FOR
The course is targeted for professionals in the fields of psychology, clinical psychology, psychotherapy, social work, crisis intervention and other helping professionals who meet with clients affected by gender dysphoria.
The course is accredited by the AKP and rated 4 points.
COURSE TEACHER
Mgr. Tomáš Kufa
Mgr. Tomáš Kufa is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist,
he has been working in psychiatric inpatient departments for the past ten years, currently
at the Psychiatric Clinic of the General Hospital and collaborates with the Institute of Sexology
of the General Hospital in diagnosing applicants for medical transition. He is a member of the Ministry of Health commission.
He is engaged in private psychotherapeutic practice and research in the field of gender
dysphoria.
