Examination for neurological diseases
This is an examination after head injuries, strokes, infectious or cancerous brain diseases, epilepsy and others.
How is a neuropsychological examination of an adult performed?
It includes an interview with a psychologist focused on describing and expressing difficulties in everyday functioning and on mapping psychological factors that may contribute to impaired cognitive performance (e.g. current stress, psychiatric disorders).
This is followed by tests focused on various cognitive functions.
The result is a report summarizing the patient's cognitive profile, which allows for comparing performance in individual cognitive areas and describing their potential deficits.
Based on this, further care can be recommended, such as further examination, treatment or rehabilitation.
What to bring with you?
If you have reports from previous examinations (neurological, psychiatric, psychological, hospital discharge reports or summaries from psychotherapy), please bring them with you.
They will help us better understand your situation.
Please also bring reading glasses or other compensatory aids (e.g. hearing aids) if you normally use them.
The examination takes approximately 2-4 hours, after which you leave the clinic.
The results are then evaluated by our neuropsychologists.
After the evaluation is complete, you will be invited back to the clinic, where the specialist will give you the results and together you will discuss the recommended next steps.
