Examination of neurodegenerative diseases
This examination is suitable for patients who experience cognitive decline in their daily life and are considering early retirement. Examination for memory, concentration or other cognitive impairments
How is a neuropsychological examination of an adult performed?
It includes an interview with a psychologist focused on the description and manifestation of difficulties in everyday functioning and on mapping psychological factors that may contribute to impaired cognitive performance (e.g. current stress, psychiatric disorders).
The following are tests aimed at various cognitive functions.
The result is a report that summarizes the patient's cognitive profile, which allows for comparison of performance in individual cognitive areas and description of their potential deficits.
Based on this, further care can be recommended, such as further examination, treatment or rehabilitation.
If we are considering an examination for retirement consideration, it is very appropriate for the person being examined to come with an escort, who is also part of the initial interview.
What to bring?
If you have reports from previous examinations (neurological, psychiatric, psychological, hospital discharge reports or psychotherapy summaries), please bring them with you.
They will help us better understand your situation.
Please also bring reading glasses or other compensatory aids (e.g. hearing aids) with you, if you normally use them.
The examination lasts approximately 2-4 hours, after which you leave the clinic.
The results are then evaluated by our neuropsychologists.
After the evaluation is complete, you will be invited back to the clinic, where the specialist will give you the results and together you will discuss the recommended next steps.
